Dear SEEK Attendees,

We’re all acutely conscious of the COVID-19 (corona) virus pandemic. In recent days we are becoming more aware that this is not a virtual crisis, but a very real one that is predicted to become more serious in coming days. We know that it has affected millions of people worldwide and it has now, unfortunately, affected our planned SEEK 2020 event in Cary, NC.

“Social distancing” (keeping 6’ away from people) is one precaution we’re being told is very important for the containment of this virus, and we are encouraged to avoid large crowds.  We know, too, that people without symptoms can unknowingly carry it to others.  For SEEK 2020 we are anticipating close to 500 people in very close quarters.  We also know that certain segments of our society and communities are more vulnerable to the virus to the point that it can become very dangerous for them.

In order to minimize the possible transmission of COVID-19, the planning team for SEEK 2020 has agreed that we need to postpone the event scheduled for April 17-18.  We do this not because of fear or panic, or simply because so many other events are being canceled, but out of concern for those who might be vulnerable in a situation where many people are in close proximity to one another.

If you’ve registered for the event, your registration will be refunded as soon as event coordinators are able to do so.  While we are all disappointed to not be sharing a wonderful weekend together, we will do our best to find dates in the future when we can, as an Alliance family, seek God together.
